Name: Hepsy Hoggarth
Age: 16
Year: 6th
Height: 4”10
Weight: 83/4 stone
Nationality: Australian
Birthday: 1st November
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Blood: Both of Hepsy’s parents are Muggles
Appearance:
Hepsy is very small for her age but weighs the average for someone of her slight size. She has black hair that tends to be unmanageable and blue eyes. The only peculiar thing about Hepsy’s appearance is the fact that she has no little finger on her left hand. This isn’t due to an accident; she was just born that way. Hepsy usually wears band T-shirts and jeans when she isn’t in her school uniform.
Personality:
Hepsy is generally a happy-go-lucky sort of person. She tries hard to not let things get her down. She dreams of becoming a Healer and is very determined to achieve that goal. She enjoys just relaxing and listening to Muggle rock music and she likes to think that she is a very down to earth person. However, when under pressure Hepsy tends to crumble and become jittery and nervous, this is presumably why she is rubbish at Potions.
History:
Her Mother, Elaine, is English whereas Hepsy’s Father, Martin, is Australian. They met when Elaine travelled to Australia to become a Marine Biologist. Elaine and Martin were together for seven years and married for two of those before Hepsy was born. However, their happiness at the arrival of Hepsy was short-lived, as Elaine’s father, who was still in England, became ill and died of Lung Cancer. Elaine’s Mother was so distraught that she became mentally ill. And so, when Hepsy was but a few months old the family moved to England so that Elaine, who herself was an only child, could care for her Mother. When Hepsy was 5, her younger sister, Hope, was born. At the age of 4 Hope was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Having had to care for both her Mother and her child, Elaine was left feeling guiltily relieved when her Mother passed away. From then on, apart from her sister being a bit of a handful sometimes, Hepsy’s life was uneventful. Until, that is, she received her Hogwarts letter, which to her was like all of her Christmas’ had come at once.
Best Subject: Ancient Runes
Worst Subject: Potions
Other Information: Hepsy owns an ugly pet frog called Toby.
Preferred House: Hufflepuff
Roleplay Sample:
It was a Sunday morning as Hepsy Hoggarth turned over in her sleep and fell out of her bed. She awoke abruptly as her back hit the floor. Hepsy grumbled to herself, stuck her thumb back into her mouth, wrapped the covers that had fallen off of the bed with her around herself, and fell back asleep. Today she needn’t get up to entertain her younger sister, Hope, or to help her Mum, because it was Respite weekend, which meant that Hope was away for a few days to give the rest of the family a chance to rest and relax. It wasn’t that they didn’t love Hope; it was just that she needed special care due to her Downs Syndrome.
Hepsy’s alarm started to blare its shrill wake-up call around the room, Hepsy had forgot to reset it. Out of habit her arm shot out to try and hit it to turn it off. Only now, of course, she was lying on the floor, and so her hand just hit the carpet. Grumbling some more Hepsy forced herself to sit up and to turn it off. Now she was fully awake and certain that she wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep. It was a warm summer’s morning and so Hepsy didn’t bother to grab her dressing gown or slippers, she traipsed down the stair in her old Forever Friends nightie. Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs Hepsy saw something strange. There, laid unnervingly neatly on the doormat was a letter, addressed to her in neat, curly handwriting.
